Ask Denovo - Café1 Series Part I: Information Gathering

This is part one of a 5-part series regarding Cafe1.

The majority of JDE customers Denovo has worked with have not yet taken advantage of Cafe1. This series will break down each part of how to build a Cafe1 in its simplest form and give universally-loved Cafe1's being used now at many of Denovo's customers. They found efficiencies they didn’t realize were available to them. It is important to note that not all Cafe1 attempts will work (and maybe just this one statement is what deters users). However, the key to a successful Cafe1 is whether the application you're trying to view has a similar or identical "key" field. Address Book Number, Sales Order Number, and Business Unit are some common "keys" that your application would need to "attach" to your base application. But for now, let’s start at the very beginning - gathering information about the application we want to connect to.

For this series, the use case will be to show the Email Address screen from the Address Book application. We first begin by navigating to the screen we WANT to see, in this case it’s the Email/Internet Revisions screen from Who's Who. Once you’re on the screen itself, click on the question mark and About:

This window will appear.

Make note of the Application, the Form, and the Version. We will need this in Part II.
