Ask Denovo - Replacing Your Vocabulary Overrides

On a recent JDE upgrade project, the customer had several modified applications in need of retrofits. The modifications on all but one application were all Vocabulary Overrides. Thankfully, there is a simple way to get rid of any Vocab Overrides by using User Defined Objects (UDOs).

Personalizations or Form Extensions allow you to easily change the labels on fields, and Grids have the ability to change Column Heading Descriptions as of Tools Release 9.2.2.4.

Don't forget - the Decustomizer can also show you all of those applications, so you don't miss anything.

Speaking of UDOs, just last Monday Oracle posted a very helpful link via LinkedIn and Twitter. Be sure to check it out for even more insightful tips!

We at Denovo want you to get the most out of your Oracle investment, and we hope this series will help with that.
