Ask Denovo - Release 24 - Component Requested Date Option

Something new in 9.2 that is a nice thing to use if you have a manufactured product that has a long lead time is the choice to have component request dates on a Work Order be tied to the Operation Start Date on the Work Order Routing instead of the Work Order Start Date. By using the Operation Start Date as the required date for components you can avoid having a large amount on inventory on hand at the start of the build of the long lead time product, when you don’t really need it until sometime later when you are ready to run the Operation Step that the component is tied to.

This is done at the time of attaching Parts List and Routing to the Work Order either in Batch, using R31410, or interactively, using P3111 (which is called by P48013). There is a Processing Option in both to turn on this functionality:
