I had the privilege of speaking at Blueprint4D last month. In one of my sessions, I discussed and demonstrated how to take advantage of the UX One objects, which Oracle now provides (in the UDO pack downloads). I had a colleague tell me that although this sounded amazing, the client they were speaking with said it's still too big a project to undertake to get the business involved. Here's what I think would be a great way to gradually implement these amazing and readily available UDO's - attach a Watchlist Badge to an existing page!
Here is what I propose: Your company has all its Composed Pages already built, like this:
From the over 500 Watchlists available, find one that is applicable to an application on that page. This sample page has "Lease Master", and there is a Watchlist with a query called "Leases Set to Expire". First, go to the UDO Admin P98220U application, find that Watchlist and Query (the ones on P1501), and Approve/Secure.
Then, on the tile itself, there is an "Associate Watchlists" toggle - when you turn this on, you'll see the tile get these four small badges plus icons:
Save the tile settings, then click on one of those Badges. In the prompt, type in the name of the Watchlist, in this case "leases", select one of them, then click OK. The plus symbol now shows as a flag, and hovering over it shows this is the "Leases Set to Expire" watchlist. Save the page, and now the users with access to this page will see this new number:
They can hover over it to see what the number represents and then click on it to review those very records!
These small "wins" to gradually adopt all these amazing tools Oracle has provided will go a long way with your JDE end users. They will ask for more, and there is plenty more UDOs to harness!
