Welcome back to our blog series: Ask Denovo! This week's question: "Is there a simpler way to access/view PDFs in JDE?"

Great question!

When you open a PDF from Submitted Jobs or Recent Reports, JDE downloads the PDF to your Download folder on your local machine. There is a prompt for you to then either open the file itself, go to the folder, or delete it. Did you know you can bypass this and have your PDF open in a new tab without any additional actions? The next time you open a PDF, right-click on the Download record and click on "Always open with system viewer" (figure 1a/1b).

This will automatically open your PDF into a new tab OR open your local PDF reader (based on your system settings). The actual setting itself is under the Downloads section in Browser Settings (figure 2).
