Tasks and Menus on the Web Series: Part 3 - Attaching a Task to a Menu

This week we’re adding our task from last week, ASKDEN030507, to our Lessee Accounting Demo menu.

Hover over the menu you wish to add the new task to. Here you can see the Lessee Accounting Demo menu is Task JDE030507:

 

 

Under the Navigator, click Content Development, and click Work with Task Relationships:

 

 

Enter the Task View the menu belongs to (in this case it’s Power User Tasks) and the menu task itself JDE030507, and click Find:

 

Notice this shows two parts in this link – Power User Tasks and Lessee Accounting Demo. This screen will always show the Task ID and it’s “Parent” relationship. When you click on the link, you’ll notice it opened up the Parent Task, not yours:

  

To adjust your menu (Child Task ID), type over the top header Parent Task ID with your number and click Find. It is CRITICAL that you click Find here and not make a mistake by clicking OK as this will then replicate the list you see into your menu.  

  

Now I can add my new task at the bottom, type in the correct sequence which would be 90 in this case, and type Task view 97 (the same one showing for the other rows). Now I can click OK:
