This week in our series on web-based menus, we show how to build Tasks.
Click Add:
Tab out of the first field (to leave the next numbering alone), and enter a name for the task. This will appear on the Navigator menu. In the Common tab, fill in ‘55’ into the Product Code, a required field. (Jargon is sometimes used to designate the system code this task belongs to, in this case it’s 15.)
In the Executable tab, click the drop down and choose Batch:
This will open up the options for a Batch task. Fill in the fields as needed. In this example, it’s the R5515001, and I need this to open the version listing.
Task Description tab is rarely used, but it should be entered if your company makes a practice of entering this for your tasks.
Click OK to save the task, then click Cancel to back out. You can reinquire on your task to verify it looks correct:
Stay tuned for our next post on this series when we get those Tasks into the menus themselves in Task Relationships!
