Purge functionality has existed in JDE since the 70's, so this is not new. However, out of the hundreds of upgrades we have participated in, I would approximate 40% of the JDE customers had a wish to do some archiving before the upgrade. Unfortunately doing archiving/purging in the middle of an upgrade is a non-starter due to the baked in conversions between JDE versions. Stripping away records then converting would introduce too much risk.
